Blockley Hockey Club Mixed Tournament Rules
1. Teams are to be 7 a-side, to include a fully kitted up goalkeeper (kicking backs are allowed but must wear protective headgear at all times, wear a different coloured top/bib and must not go further forward than the half way line) and have a maximum of 3 male outfield players and can be selected from a maximum squad of 10.
2. Games are 15 minutes ONE way. Games will be centrally timed, starting and finishing with a signal from the organisers. An interval of 5 minutes will be allowed between games so please be ready to play immediately when the previous game has finished. The central time signal will be the sign for the ending of the games NOTthe umpire’s whistle and no additional time will be given for any reason, except for the completion of a penalty corner or the completion of a penalty stroke.
3. Three points for a win; 2 points for a score draw; one point for a no score draw and one point will be awarded for each goal scored.
4. Normal Hockey rules will apply. On penalty corners the first strike must be made by a female player. When a penalty corner is awarded, 3 players and the GK must be back. The other three players of the defending team must be in the opposition’s D.The Long Corner shall be replaced with a free hit from the sideline level with the top of the circle. No Tomahawk shots on goal will be allowed.
5. The first named teams in the programme are to provide the match ball and the second named teams to change strip in the event of a colour clash.
6. It is the responsibility of the umpires to report the match result on the result slip to the organisers (in the Marquee) at the end of each match.
7. On completion of the 7 rounds of the Round Robin programme, should there be a tie for the top positions, then the result against each of the tying teams shall be the deciding factor, if this still does not establish a winner or 2nd place, then goal difference will be calculated to confirm the league position. Then goals scored. If all factors are still equal, then a penalty stroke competition will take place.
8. In the semi finals the top 4 placed teams will play with the top placed team playing the fourth placed team and the third placed team playing the second placed team.
9. The Semi Finals and Final will be 10 minutes each way. Should the score be level after full time the game will be resolved by penalty strokes by five team members (at least 2 female players) then if necessary sudden death penalty strokes.
10. Substitutes are allowed to be rolled on and off during allmatches but the rule of a max of 3 male out field players must be adhered to.
11. The decision of the Umpires and Tournament Organisation team is final.
